New Haven, Connecticut!
This very visual and antique ice-cream sign measures approximately
60" x 21"
, and appears to be very thick cardboard with metal reinforcement framing around all four sides. In lower left corner, it says
"Patented May 14, 1918"
(see photo). The sign was produced by the
"Kemper-Thomas Co."
, of Cincinnati, Ohio (this info. is located in lower right corner; see photo). There's additional production info. printed onto the sign's reverse (see photo). The sign's colors are cream, red and black. What makes this ice-cream sign a "classic" are the illustrations of an ice-cream soda and ice-cream sundae...complete with a cherry on top! A truly
rare
and outstanding example of a vintage ice-cream sign from more than a century ago!!
