An anastigmat or anastigmatic lens is a photographic lens completely corrected for spherical aberration, coma, and astigmatism. Early lenses often included the word Anastigmat in their name to advertise this new feature (Doppel-Anastigmat, Voigtländer Anastigmat Skopar, etc.). All modern photographic lenses are close to being anastigmatic.
The first Anastigmat was designed by Paul Rudolph for the Carl Zeiss AG in 1890.

You are viewing a vintage Federal Anastigmat 3.5" f6.3 enlarger lens (No. 1265). Made by FEDERAL STAMPING AND ENGINEERING CORP. BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.  Ultra rare to find New In Box (NIB), appears like-new, maybe only very light usage years ago, but in overall fabulous Minty condition for its age. Has a 24mm mounting thread.  Inner iris aperture works smoothly & perfectly with nice tight firm turn mechanism. A great find if you are restoring a vintage Federal enlarger to it original condition

Has great vintage displayability!  Probably dates to c.1950's
