c.1950s Butterscotch Ice Cream Sundae Window Decal Drive-In Vintage NOS BIG

Description

This is an original vintage unused c.1950s Atomic Age drive-in restaurant window decal advertising Butterscotch Ice Cream Sundaes.  This is a peel and stick window decal which is unused with the original backing sheet still attached.    The decal is face down on the backing so this would have been used on an interior window with artwork side with adhesive pressed on the glass.  Instructions for applying the decal are printed on the back of the backing sheet and indicate this decal was made by the Allied Decals Inc of Cleveland, Ohio.
This is a large color decal with the sheet size measuring about 9.25” x 14.5” with the decal itself being about 9.25” x 13.75” since there are narrow strips that peel off at the top and bottom edge.  The decal shows a large Atomic Age looking ice cream sundae with the tag line “
FRESH FROM OUR FREEZER – Delicious Refreshing Sundaes – A Smooth Wholesome Dairy Treat!
” printed across the Sundae and the word “
BUTTERSCOTCH
” printed across the top.
This decal is vintage original Mid-century unused new old stock produced 60+ years ago.  This decal is unused and still on the backing sheet with the backing sheet showing some toning from age, a trace of staining and some light soiling.  I didn’t pull the decal up off the backing to inspect it but it looks like it could still be used and would look great.   This large original decal really captures the look and feel of the small town drive-ins that dotted the map all across Atomic Age America.   Email any questions.  Thanks for looking.
