50s VINTAGE ~COOS BAY HARDBOARD FABRICATORS~ L.A. CA. LETTER HOLDER SAMPLE PROMO

Description

This company sample / customer promo certainly proves the longevity of their product!  The large letter holder was manufactured by
COOS BAY HARDBOARD FABRICATORS, 3201 SO. MAPLE, LOS ANGELES
made from the very substance they produced!  I believe what they refer to as
hardboard
is more commonly referred to as
particle board
today.  Based on the LETTER TELEPHONE EXCHANGE "AD", age is roughly 1950's or very early 1960's when they were no longer used....Note: AD referred to the full exchange name ADAMS in the city of Los Angeles at the time.  Letter holder measures just shy of 4 1/2" vertically, 5 3/4" horizontally with the five sections front-to-back having a total length of 7 3/8" including the extensions, each with a groove perfect for a pencil! As you know if you've ever lifted a table made from particle board, IT'S HEAVY....this piece weighs 1.25 pounds before packing!  Certainly a fun addition for a vintage office equipment or advertising collection!
