    Organized 11.25.1837 closed 1838. The Clinton Canal was a proposed waterway to connect Lake St. Clair near Mt Clemens, by means of a canal system, through Pontiac and on to Kalamazoo where it could connect to the Kalamazoo River and continue to Lake Michigan. Credit to Dr. Wallace G. Lee
